An install adds a window and a set of local settings. The account it looks at was already running, and it keeps running when the program is removed again.

Which one do I need?
Not sure which to get? The Exness Trade app (Android and iOS) is the simplest way to trade on a phone. On a computer, MetaTrader 5 or MetaTrader 4 installs on Windows and macOS for advanced charting, while the Exness Terminal runs in any browser with nothing to download. Google Play and the App Store are the official app sources; an APK from a third-party site such as apkpure is not recommended for a financial app.

It is worth being precise about what a downloaded program contains. It contains the code that draws charts and sends instructions, and it contains the preferences of whoever used it. It does not contain the account, the positions, the orders or the history — those are asked for on connection every time.
The consequence is that an unstarted install is not an incomplete account. A trade opened from a phone is visible from a desktop terminal the first time that terminal connects, without anything being imported, because there was never a second copy to import.
What a reinstall actually loses
Removing and reinstalling a terminal deletes the local half and nothing else. Chart templates, saved indicator sets, the arrangement of panels, colour schemes and the list of symbols that were being watched live on the disk, and they go with it.
That is a real loss of work, and it is the only kind of loss involved. Rebuilding a workspace is tedious; it is not the same category of event as losing a position, and the two are frequently confused when a machine has to be replaced in a hurry.
What survives a change of computer without any action
Balance, open positions, pending orders, protective levels and the full history of what has already happened survive by construction: none of them was on the old machine. A fresh install on a different computer reaches exactly the same record.
The same is true in the other direction. A machine that dies with a terminal open does not take anything with it, because the terminal was reporting rather than holding, and the server kept applying its rules throughout.
Rebuilding after a reinstall
- Connect first and read the account: balance, open positions and pending orders arrive without any setup.
- Expect the workspace to be empty — templates, indicator sets and panel layouts were local and are gone.
- Re-add the symbols that were being watched; an absent symbol is not a missing account, only an unasked question.
- Rebuild chart templates last, once it is clear what actually needs watching.
None of these steps touch a position. They restore a workspace, which is the only thing a reinstall removed.
