The Exness App When the Screen Is Off
Locking the phone hides the account; it does not pause it. Positions, pending orders and accruals go on being handled on the broker side while the app is shut.
Open Exness Account →Closing the Exness Trade app closes a window, not a position. Open trades, pending orders and protective levels are held on the broker servers and keep working while the phone is locked, out of coverage or switched off. What the phone loses is the stream of quotes and the ability to send an instruction; what it never held in the first place is the account itself.
What stops with the app and what does not
Almost everything a phone shows about an account is a copy of something kept elsewhere. Losing the copy is not losing the original, and the list below separates the two.
- A position stays open when the app is closed: it is held on the broker servers, and the phone was only displaying it.
- Pending orders, stop-loss and take-profit levels remain on the server and can trigger with the handset switched off.
- Quotes stop arriving at the phone, not at the account — the last figure on a locked screen is a memory, not a price.
- Reconnecting replays nothing: the app asks for the present state and shows it.
- An instruction that reached the server before the screen went dark is not recalled by the screen going dark.
- A phone that is lost, flat or out of coverage changes what can be done, not what is already running.
- Silence from the app is not evidence that nothing happened; the account record is the evidence.
What a dark screen does not interrupt
A closed or locked app leaves the position, the pending order and the protective levels exactly where they were. Worth watching once on a free demo, before it matters on a live account.
Open Exness Account →Seeing and happening are two different events
A phone reports. It does not host. Every figure on it arrived from the broker side a moment earlier, and the moment the connection ends the figures freeze while the thing they describe carries on moving.
This is the whole difference between not seeing something and it not happening. A screen that has gone dark is a statement about the screen. The account record is the only statement about the account, and it was being written the entire time.
Why nothing consequential depends on the app being open
The instructions that matter after they are sent do not live on the handset. A pending order that the server accepted has its level on the server; a stop loss attached to a position travels with the position. Neither of them asks whether an app is in the foreground before acting.
That design is what makes a flat battery an inconvenience rather than an event. The handset is one of several possible windows, and the account behaves the same when none of them is open.
Held on the phone vs held on the broker side
| What it is | Lives on the phone | Lives on the broker side |
|---|---|---|
| The chart you were looking at | Yes — timeframe, layout, drawings | No |
| The stream of quotes | Only while connected | Continuous |
| An open position | Displayed | Held and repriced |
| A pending order and its level | Displayed | Held and triggered |
| Stop loss and take profit | Displayed | Applied |
| An instruction not yet sent | Yes | No |
| The account record itself | No | Yes |
A dark screen removes the middle column and leaves the right-hand one untouched.

Awesome. Wonderful app and wonderful broker. Like it. Just that, after using the app for iPad, I discover that the app flickers; when trading, the trading interface will disappear and comeback again. Is not stable
